Skyline Aviation own and operate three fixed wing air ambulance aircraft in support of the Hawkes Bay District Health Boards aeromedical programme and support other Hospitals air ambulance needs including the Gisborne Hospital.
Our twin engine fixed wing fleet consists of a Beechcraft King Air B200C (ZK-PLK) turboprop, Cessna 421C Golden Eagle (ZK-MFT) and a Piper Navajo (ZK-LWN).
The King Air and the Cessna 421 are pressurized to meet the needs of our more critical patients.
The aircraft are based at Napier Airport in a purpose built facility with indoor boarding and patient and family care lounge.
We are the busiest fixed wing air ambulance service and one of the most experienced in New Zealand. We undertake operations to all corners of the country.
With the recent addition of the Beechcraft King Air B200C to our fleet, we are extending our services by offering a full range of aeromedical services in partnership with the Hawke’s Bay District Health Board, to cover the Chatham Islands and some Pacific Island destinations.
Our fleet has safely transported over 12,000 patients nationwide.
Our aircraft are all equipped to meet the most stringent industry requirements and cater for all categories of patients from those with only minor clinical care requirements right through to patients requiring full intensive care and life support in the air, including specialist services for neonates and paediatric retrievals and transfers.
We provide 24/7 service with our fleet which is equipped with advanced avionics and navigational aids which enables flights at night and in nearly all weather conditions including ‘known icing’ conditions.
